Finally a chance to update!

We escaped the cold at Bryce and arrived at Arches NP after traveling through Capitol Reef NP. A beautiful drive to a fantastic place

A little climbing

Delicate Arch A 1 1/2 mile uphill hike! But worth it.

Falling Arch

We made a side trip to Canyonlands NP. What fantastic views!

This doesn't begin to show the vast expanse of the park. The Green and Colorado Rivers flow through creating this masterpiece.

From there off to Monument Valley Tribal Park on the Navajo Reservation. It may look familiar if you have ever seen Stagecoach, Back to the Future III or MI 3 or the many other movies shot there.

We are currently at Glen Canyon NRA. Sorry no pictures, the wind is 40 mph and the sand is a flyin!!

Spring Adventure

We left home March 15th and headed south along the coast. After a couple days in Morro Bay to visit my Uncle and 4 days at Refugio Beach State Park we headed inland to Las Vegas.

We spent the next two weeks sitting with our two nephews Alex (5) and Nicholas (3) while Mom and Dad celebrated their 10th anniversary in the Caribbean. We had a great time and it sure brought back a lot of memories. Our last night their we went to the Elton John concert, it was great hearing all the old hits. He can still sing and definitely plays the piano great.

Then it was off to Zion National Park. Incredible mostly describes it, but not quite. Kind of like Yosemite but a narrower valley and red. We discovered a great drive outside the park which was just as beautiful, with more open views.

We are now in Bryce Canyon National Park. The high temperature the last two days was 36 degrees with intermittent snow. Today when we were at 9000 ft it was 21 deg and the wind was
blowing about 20 mph! Needless to say it didn't take us long to take in the incredible scenery!!

We will be heading to Arches NP and Canyonlands NP tomorrow or the next day. 4000 ft lower and much warmer!!!

Oops!

I forgot to post some of the pictures we took on our fantastic trip to Yosemite.
Mark and Nicole, our niece and nephew (and soon to be parents!) were out from Atlanta. We had a great time with Mother Nature providing the awesome scenery.

Timing and luck are everything!!!!

Greetings!

A couple of picture I took yesterday with my new camera and lens. It will probably only take me a year to learn all the capabilities.

I finally finished the garage remodel.
I gave it a little class and color.
Now I guess I'll have to keep it cleaner!

Happy New Year!

Well it has been awhile since I have updated this. Sorry about that!
We have been busy, busy, busy!!
Trips to Ohio/Kentucky and Las Vegas have taken up a good while and of course the holidays.

Here are some pictures of Chris and Kristen's house they bought last July. It sat empty for many months and they have been busy with moving, cleaning, painting and of course installing a big screen TV and Surround sound. Lot's of work and a long story on that last project!
Of course they have taken advantage of the free labor pool of retired people in Livermore. We are glad to help but I hate painting and will be glad when it gets finished!

Hot tub!

Gazebo with HUGE pit BBQ!

Home again!

Well, we have been home a couple of weeks and I finally have some time to do a final update here. With cleaning all the Canadian and Alaska dirt off and out of the Cruiser, cleaning the house, getting the yard into a basic semblance of shape and two days helping Chris and Kristen out at their new house we have been BUSY!

The trip was incredible! I just can't say enough of the beauty along the route we took. The pictures don't really do it justice. Every turn brought us to a view of jaw dropping scenery.

We hope you have enjoyed following along with us!

Sept 3

We re-entered the good ol US of A a few days ago and after bidding fairwell to the land of Loonies and Twonies (that says alot!), English/French bipolarism and lots of great scenery we are at Kathy's sister's in Port Orchard, WA for several days. We have finally found some sunshine and it is great after so many overcast skies and rain. Who would have thought the good weather would be in the Pacific Northwest??
